The structural and component design of the data center is developed after determining the client’s strategic objectives in terms of security, redundancy and time ability to recover from worst-case data loss. Clearly, modern major corporations live by their data—and almost instant recovery through redundancy and the ability to leverage that redundancy—is essential in today’s business world. Even small to mid-sized companies are severely impacted in the event they lose their data for even a few days.
Fortunately, the expense required to build and maintain the modern data center is mitigated by the continuing value-quotient in data storage (computer servers). With each year, less real dollars buy more compact and greater computing power and storage. Our philosophy is to be practical about the investment in facilities and computing capacity that clients make at any given time. Future investments can then take proper advantage of advances in technology and a company’s evolving business needs.
